For instance, the Nazis were popular among the peasants, veterans, the middle class, the unemployed/destitute (those that didn’t vote communist), the younger military corps, some intellectuals, industrialists and capitalists, and reluctantly, the junker class. This lead fascists to derive their political support from various strata of society. This means that fascists are unconcerned with class warfare (even if they use class warfare type rhetoric sometimes). The Nazis believed that the Aryan Germans were destined to become the Übermensch, but, for instance, modern Indian fascists believe that Hindu Indians are destined to become the Übermensch (they do not explicitly use this term like the Nazis did, but their rhetoric is very similar).įascism, as opposed to many other revolutionary ideologies such as Marxism, is class collaborationist.
